3rd quarter 3/17
I watched a Ted Talk on How to Prevent Alzheimer. In this Ted Talk the creator had visual representation in the background in order to have her audience more captivated in what she was talking about and also to help them visualize it. She showed clips and small animations. I think that having props or any visuals helps to get your point across better, helps them see what you see. She also had facts and research to back her statements up. She was well informed on her topic and that is very important especially when you are trying to teach someone about it. She did not seem clueless, she was confident while speaking which made it easier to watch and easier to take her seriously. If you are trying to inform people on a certain topic you should always be confident in what you are saying if you seem uncertain with some of your information people will stop listening to it. So the tips that i will take from this Ted Talk would be to have visual representations, be well informed on my topic and also to speak in front of everyone with great confidence so they will for a fact take me seriously.

3rd quarter 3/3
From an early age, maybe when i was in kinder-garden i had my mind set on becoming a veterinarian. I was obsessed with animals, i had many pets growing up and some were a bit unusual. My first pet was a fish, i took good care of it i always made sure the tank was clean and that it was feed. It ended up dying 7 months later though fro natural causes lol. In my 3rd grade class we did an experiment where we took care of duck eggs, kept them in an incubator and watched them hatch. We kept them for weeks but then they had to go, i volunteered to take home two of the ducklings, they were adorable. I had them for maybe 3 years, they grew up pretty big and fat. I also had a turtle as a pet for a while, he was tiny. But i never loved those pets as much as i loved my dogs. In the 5th grade i was given a half pit half lab female mix, she was a muscular good looking dog with a white stripe going down her nose. Her name was Sassy. A year later she had 6 healthy puppies that i kept for about 5 months.Imagine having 7 dogs and most of them as babies, i was in heaven. I couldn't wait to come home to my puppies everyday after school. Eventually had to give some away because they were getting way too big. I did get to keep one though, so that left me with two dogs. I had them up until the 11th grade, last year. My grandma would complain about the dogs a lot even though they were the most friendliest well behaved dogs ever, so they gave them away while i was on vacation because they knew that if i was there i wouldnt let anyone tough my babies. As i got older i researched more how much veterinarians make a year and the schooling they have to go through and what they do as animal doctors and i realized quickly that that is not the career for me. Im still undecided as t what i want to study and have as a career

3rd quarter 2/10 Critical thinking
At a very young age, especially being a female in a Hispanic
household i was taught how to do many household chores. I was taught to always
clean up after myself and my younger siblings. Learning how to make my bed,
sweep, mop, vacuum, wash the dishes, do laundry, and even cook is very
important to my family. All children should have some type of responsibility at
home so they value their homes and family more. If all a child does all day
after school is eat and play and never clean up after themselves they'll see
their mother or whoever is taking care of them as a maid and will grow up
clueless to all the things you have to do when your parents are not around. In
order to grow up independent your parent must teach you at an early age the
basic responsibilities that you will have to worry about when you're on your
own. Your parents wont always be there for you and most kids nowadays forget
that. As for helping out financially, i believe that at a certain age 18+ you
should already have a job and could chip in on bills if your parents ask you to
or if they seem like they need the help. You shouldn't have to give your whole
paycheck though, you need to start saving up for your future. Sometimes parents
are too prideful to ask for financial help but if you know your parent are
struggling and your have younger siblings, it really is your job to lend a
helping hand. Plus its always a good feeling to know you are helpful to the people
who took care of you your entire life, it feels good to give back.

April 28th Ted Talk
Now that the Ted Talk is done, I feel pleased with the work
that I had done. I'm relieved that I got it done and handed it in on time. I
was very into the topic that I had chosen since I can relate to it and have had
some experiences with this. The issue on Gangs and Gang violence is something I
think everyone should be informed on for their own security. This topic affects
a lot of people and their families, it affects people who aren’t even gang affiliated.
No matter what, eventually at one point in your life you will come across
someone who is in a gang. I was happy to be informative on the topic to
hopefully bring more attention to all the things going on in the world because
of this. It was easy to write about this topic because I was already informed
on the topic and experience it in my everyday life. Three of my strengths
during this assignment were my abilities to find research quickly, my ability
to put some of my personality into my writing so it wouldn't sound like a
research paper and the organization of my paper. My weaknesses were citing my
sources, staying on topic and not being more creative when making my video. I
wanted to have props and a nice background but I was running out of time, I could've
done a lot better with my video but at least I got it done.
